Data protection
Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data Sightegy processes when you visit this website or contact us, why, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP / revDSG, in force since 1 September 2023) and, for visitors in the EU or EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
01Controller
The controller is the operator named in the Impressum above. For any question about your data, write to [email protected].
02What we collect
- Enquiries. When you write to us by email or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, organisation and message. The contact form opens your own email app with the message filled in; nothing is stored on this website.
- Technical data. When you load a page, our hosting and content-delivery provider processes your IP address, the time of the request, the pages requested and your browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Fonts. This website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. To do so, your browser connects to Google's servers, which transmits your IP address to Google.
- No tracking. We use no analytics and no advertising cookies.
03Purposes and legal bases
We use this data only for the purposes below. Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request before a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and running a secure website).
The contact form asks you to confirm that you have read this notice. That confirmation is an acknowledgement, not consent: we do not rely on consent as a legal basis, so the bases above apply.
04Processors and disclosure abroad
We use the following service providers, which process data on our behalf, and the countries the data may go to:
Where a destination country does not offer an adequate level of data protection, the transfer relies on the Swiss–US or EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified under it, or on standard contractual clauses (SCCs).
05Retention
We keep data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires.
06Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you (access);
- correct data that is wrong (correction);
- delete your data (deletion);
- limit how we use your data while a question about it is being resolved (restriction of processing, GDPR Art. 18);
- stop processing it (objection);
- give you your data in a common, machine-readable format (data portability).
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on the request.
You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / EDÖB) or, if you are in the EU or EEA, to the data protection authority in your country.
07Confidential material
Please do not send confidential or unpublished information through this website or in a first email. We receive confidential material only under a mutual non-disclosure agreement.
08Changes
We will update this notice when the website or the way we process data changes. The current version is always the one on this page.
